Jonathan Lu

Mr. Lu is the founding partner with XY Capital. 

Prior to XY Capital, he served in numerous leadership roles at Alibaba Group over a span of 16 years. Mr. Lu joined Alibaba Group in 2000 and was appointed as the Vice Chairman of the Alibaba Group in May 2015. He succeeded Mr. Jack Ma as Chief Executive Officer of Alibaba Group in May 2013. He also served in leadership roles in almost all of Alibaba Group’s key business units during his tenor at Alibaba. Prior to Taobao.com, Mr. Lu led a team to establish Alipay in September 2004 and was Alipay's inaugural president.

 He received a Graduate Certificate in Hotel Management from Guangzhou University and a Master's Degree in Business Administration from China Europe International Business School.
